Our History

ATO Architects started out in 1987 on the back of a winning entry in a design competition for the squash court complex of one of the oldest clubs in Nigeria, Ikoyi Club 1938. The firm went on to prove herself by winning a string of other competitive bids for work, the most recent of which is the 17-storey, 3-tower headquarter building for the Federal Inland Revenue Service at Abuja.

In 1996, it became incorporated as A.T.Onajide Architects Limited and subsequently ATO Architects Limited.

The range of project types that we have designed and managed to completion is very broad and includes work in Oil and Gas, Aviation, Education, Ecclesiastical, Banking and Finance, Corporate development, Hospitality, Healthcare, Recreation, Residential and Housing, Commercial and Retail.

In our bid to provide the very best architectural services to our clients, ATO Architects Limited has formed bilateral professional partnerships across borders with architectural firms in the United States, Egypt and France to compete for work on an international level. In 2010, partnering with a firm of architects from Louisiana, USA, we created the winning entry on a major design competition for an international oil and gas conglomerate.

We are confident of our ability to offer our services to individuals and corporations in other countries either in our own capacity or as part of a multidisciplinary group and are also proud of our proven ability to represent international firms locally on selected projects.

At the core of everything we do is the visualization of possibilities along with Our Clients and helping them turn possibility into reality.  We recognize at all times our corporate responsibility to always help to protect the environment and do not take this lightly.

In 1994, we sought to improve our design services by implementing a Total Quality Management System. In 2018, we received our ISO 9001:2015 certification from Bureau Veritas. We are now working towards implementing ISO 19650:2018 standards for BIM.
